What is A+ Certification?
A. A+
Certification is a CompTIA-sponsored testing program that
certifies the competency of entry-level (6 months experience)
computer service technicians. The A+® exams contain situational,
and identification types of questions. All of the questions
are multiple choice. There is either one answer for each question
or the question identifies how many answers you should select.
The test covers a broad range of hardware and software technologies,
but is not bound to any vendor-specific products.

What is the minimum passing score needed for the A+ exams?
A. The
A+ exams use a scaled score format.
The A+ upgraded exams covering the 2003
objectives are graded on a scale of 100 - 900. The minimum
score for the A+ Core Hardware exam is 515 and the minimum
score for the A+ OS exam is 505.

How do I register for the revised A+ Exams?
A. You
may register by selecting one of the following test vendors:

What is the maximum time allowed for the A+ exams covering
the 2003 Objectives?
A. You
are given a maximum of 90 minutes each to complete both the
A+ Core Hardware exam and the A+ OS Technologies exam.
Q.
How many questions are on the A+ Core Hardware and A+ OS Technologies
exams?
A. There
are approximately 80 questions on each of the A+ exams.
Q.
Can I take the Core Hardware and OS Technologies exams at
separate times?
A. Candidates
have until the test content and objectives change to pass
both portions of the exam.

Once I have passed the test, how long
will it be before I receive my certificate and ID card?
A. It
will take approximately 4 - 6 weeks. If you do not receive
your certificate and ID card after 6 weeks please contact
CompTIA. All requests must be submitted in writing to prevent
clerical errors. CompTIA will need your name as you want it
to appear on your certificate, address, phone and your candidate
ID number. Orders will be processed in the order they were
received. Please allow 48 hours for a response. You may e-mail
